The new NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC WIFI Colour Weather Station with 7-in-1 professional outdoor sensor offers a comprehensive information service.

It was one of five automatic weather stations placed in May 2019 as part of a partnership between the National Geographic Society; Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal; and the Nepal government, with funding from Rolex. This article was supported by Rolex, which is partnering with the National Geographic Society on science-based expeditions to explore, study, and document change in the planet’s most unique regions.

In its upper left corner, the display unit shows forecasted conditions for the next 12 hours using any of its six different icons — sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy, snowy. You can choose to accept all cookies or manage them, with full details available in our cookie policy. The sensor reliably transmits measured values for wind speed, wind direction, humidity, temperature, amount of precipitation, as well as UV level and light intensity to the base station via 868 MHz frequency. You can transmit your weather data to the European Weather platform AWEKAS where you can also retrieve your weatherdata worldwide.
